Reservations and Deposits

Reservations for Taylortown Reception Hall are accepted on a first-come first-served basis only. A signed rental agreement and $250 security deposit are required to reserve a date. Your date is not confirmed until both of those conditions are met and you have received an email receipt from Taylortown Reception Hall.

We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express. Deposits paid for a reservation of a date are transferable to another date (if available within the current calendar year). After seven (7) days, all deposits are subject to the cancellation policy. (See Cancellation Policy)

The balance of the rental is due 30 days in advance of the rental date. If reservation date is within 30 days, full payment including security deposit is due at booking.  

The security deposit will be returned within three to five business days after your event, unless there were damages, cleaning and or any other violations of the Property Terms and Conditions, which will result in a forfeiture of full security deposit.

One-third of balance is due at 90 days, 60 days and final balance being paid 30 days prior to event. A Grace Period of three days following the 30 day balance due date is permitted; however, a 10% late fee on the remaining balance will be added to renter’s account. If payment of full balance is not made before the fourth day following the 30 day balance benchmark date then the event will be cancelled without refund of any deposit or final payments.

 

Cancellation Policy

If renter cancels agreement within seven (7) days of signing, a 50% fee will be assessed, taking from the total security deposit.

Cancellation after seven (7) days will result in the forfeiture of the entire security deposit.

In the event that a renter has prepaid rental fees and wishes to cancel the agreement, a full refund will be issued if canceled 60 days prior to event. A 50% refund will be issued if canceled 30 days prior to event. No refund of rental fees if cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to event.

 

Liability

Applicant will indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Taylortown Reception Hall, its Agents and Owner against all claims, damages, losses and expenses, including attorney’s fees, arising out of the permitted activity or the conduct of permittees operation of the Event if such claim (1) is attributed to personal injury, bodily injury, disease or death or injury to or destruction of property including the loss of use there from and (2) is not caused by any negligent act or omission of willful misconduct of the Taylortown Reception Hall or its employees acting within the scope of their employment.

APPLICANT STATEMENT: I, the undersigned, do attest that the information provided is true and correct to the best of my knowledge. If any part of this application is not true, then the application will be rejected and the contract will be voided. I also understand that it is my responsibility to ensure compliance with the following:

The observance of all applicable laws and ordinances, any stipulations or restrictions of this application, the Applicant will assume any and all liability that may arise by the permitted activity. Applicant will  notify Event Manager in writing if any information given in this application changes 7 days prior to the event.

Insurance

The renter will, at their own expense, provide and maintain certain insurance in full force and effect at all times during the term of the agreement. Special Events Liability Insurance in the amount not less than a combined single amount of $1,000,000.00. This policy should be endorsed to name: TAYLORTOWN RECEPTION HALL and J.H. MERCER (owner) as additional insured. Policy should be submitted to Taylortown Reception Hall 30 days prior to event.

 

Catering

All meals must be brought to the event pre-prepared or provided by an independent vendor. Absolutely no cooking is allowed in the building.

All alcohol that is served must be done by a licensed professional or bartending service, that has and can readily produce a current and valid ABO Card.  

Alcohol may be served only in areas designated by Taylortown Reception Hall.

No alcohol may be served to minors.

Taylortown Reception Hall reserves the right to end alcohol service and/or event at any time, for any reason, if staff feels that behavior and/or alcohol consumption becomes unruly and or dangerous.

 

Entertainment

No excessive noise or loud music allowed and will be subject to review by owner and or event manager.

 

Rentals

Taylortown Reception Hall provides tables and chairs for 100 guests, which is included in the rental agreement pricing. These tables and chairs are to be used inside the building only. Additional procurement of table, chairs, linens or other rentals are the responsibility of the renter. The renter must coordinate with rental vendor(s) for the timely delivery and pickup of any additional rentals. Taylortown Reception Hall is not responsible for rentals left beyond 24 hours following event.

 

Gazebo Gardens

The Gazebo Gardens at Taylortown Reception Hall are lush, beautiful and ideal for a more intimate, private affair when rented separately from the Hall. Features include a picturesque Gazebo, versatile Pergola and stunning Bridal Alley with slate walkway.

Maximum occupancy for the Gazebo Gardens is 60 (strictly enforced). One unisex restroom is available with the rental of only the Gazebo Gardens. Additional restroom accommodations needed in the form of portable washrooms must be secured and paid for by the renter. Tables and chairs and any other goods/services needed for an outdoor event must be rented from outside vendors as those items within the Hall are not permitted for use outdoors.

 

Cancellation

In the event that a renter has prepaid rental fees and wishes to cancel the agreement, a full refund will be issued if canceled 90 days prior to event. A 50% refund will be issued if canceled 60 days prior to event. No refund of rental fees if cancellation is made 30 days or less prior to event.

 

Gazebo Gardens Inclement Weather Policy

We strongly suggest the following in case of inclement weather on the day of your event:

  • Purchase “wedding insurance” to cover any expenses relating to the postponement of your wedding due inclement weather.
  • Rent a tent(s) as part of a contingency plan.

If your outdoor event at Taylortown Reception Hall Gazebo Gardens is affected by inclement weather, the following policies will be implemented:

  • If the Reception Hall was also included in your reservation, then your event will be moved to the Hall.
  • If you did not reserve the Hall, only the Gazebo Gardens, then you may book the Hall, if available, and payment in full is due BEFORE your event can be moved indoors.
  • You will have the option to reschedule your event for another available date; however, it is still your responsibility to reschedule with your contracted vendors for the new date.
  • If you do not have the flexibility to reschedule the date of your event, then your original contract will be cancelled without refund of any deposit or final payments.
